Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actress and vocalist whose dramatic versatility earned her praise in a variety of styles from period dramas to action and thriller. Johansson was born in New York City, and was raised there by her producer father and architect mother. Hunter Her twin and Johansson both were the smallest of the four children. Her interest began in acting from a very young age and was auditioning for commercials before age seven. Then she began her studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and then attended the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further hone her craft. In Off-Broadway's play Sophistry she performed with Ethan Hawke at age 8, and in North directed by Rob Reiner in 1994 she debuted in film. Johansson later appeared in Just Cause (1995) but her first big break came with Manny & Lo (1996) which was a film about siblings who are orphaned and run away. She next earned critical applause for her performance as a teenager who has suffered an unforgiving accident on screen in The Horse Whisperer (1998) and she gained further attention as cynical teen outcast Rebecca in Ghost World (2001). Renee Felice Smith started her professional career in entertainment at a young age. Smith was captivated by acting as a young child. Thanks to the encouragement from her parents, Smith found her first acting job in the age of 6. On a TV commercial Smith starred as Dannon Yogurt. Much like many of the actresses just starting out, she chose to refine her art in the realm of theater. In the time she staged her debut with Wildflower she was also working for various productions across the USA. She was studying at The Stonestreet Studios Conservatory part of the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts'.
